Patients Information

Whether you are an existing patient or have just joined our practice, we’ve pulled together some of the useful and most requested information below.

If you can’t find the answer to your question, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to get the solution for you.

Emergency Care

We are dedicated to providing our existing patients with quality emergency care should you need it. Emergency appointments are reserved with our dentists each day.

Please call us on 01228 521701 as early as possible on the day of your dental emergency.

Our reception team will be able to run through a series of triage questions with you to make sure we handle your emergency efficiently. Depending on the nature and severity of your dental problem, the earliest possible appointment will be offered to you in hopes it is convenient.

If the earliest available appointment isn’t with your usual dentist, you will be informed and given a choice as to whether or not you wish to accept that appointment.

Our opening hours are:

Monday: 9am - 5.15pm

Tuesday: 9am - 5.15pm

Wednesday: 9am - 5.15pm

Accessible Entrance

Here at Plumfield, we understand the importance of making dental care as accessible as possible.

Being located in a traditional Victorian building, the practice is split over multiple floors, and a number of sandstone steps that lead up to our front door. We have therefore created an additional entrance to the practice at the back of the building, leading to a waiting room, surgery and toilet that is all on one level.

If this entrance is more suited to you, please let one of our reception team know so that we can make a note on your records. We can also provide full instructions on how to find and use this entrance.

Safe Working Weight Limits

At our practice patient safety, dignity and comfort are our highest priorities.

Please be aware that the safe working weight limit of the dental chairs used within this practice is 21 stone (133kg/ 294 lbs). To help us provide safe and appropriate care patients are asked to inform us is they believe they may exceed the chair weight limit. Members of the team may sensitively ask questions relating to weight where necessary to ensure safe assessment, treatment, planning and clinical care. Where possible, we will support patients with referral or signposting to a more suitable provide with appropriate facilities and equipment.
