Airpolishing

Airpolishing, sometimes known as airflow, is a safe, painless and cost-effective way to improve the colour of your teeth by removing stains. It removes discolouration caused by smoking, tea, coffee and red wine.

It can also help with maintaining gum health for patients who find traditional scaling and polishing by the hygienist, sensitive or painful, as it requires no vibration and minimal pressure on teeth and gums.

Airpolishing can be undertaken in a single visit, as often as you need, ┬áby your dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist. Airpolishing cleans teeth using a fine jet of compressed air, water and fine powder particles. It is suitable for patients with dental implants, veneers, crowns and bridges.

It is safe for the vast majority of patients and can even be undertaken while pregnant.

Airpolishing can also help prepare your teeth for white fillings and tooth whitening, by removing surface stains and helping bonding or whitening agents act on the natural tooth surface.

Airpolishing can be undertaken in as little as 10 minutes, longer sessions can be booked for heavy staining.
